Usui Reiki was founded in March of 1922 by Dr. Mikao Usui after spending 21 days meditiating and fasting on Mt Kurama in Japan. It was here that he was passed this gift from the divine. An illumiating ray travelled through the sky and penetrated his third eye chakra, located at the brow, instilling this ancient wisdom in him.

The Usui system of Reiki was not the only hands on healing being practiced in Japan at the time. Kiko and Qi Gong were also present, but unlike these modalities, reiki did not require years of study to be learned, and it offered a constant flow of energy, so that the practitioner was not growing and depleting his or her own energy. Reiki is the universal life force energy. It is unlimited and ever-flowing.

Reiki made its way to the west through Mrs. Hawayo Takata. Living in Hawaii she became gravely ill she returned to Japan to get better. It was here that she was introduced to reiki from one of Dr. Usui's students, Chujiro Hayashi. In 1938 Mrs. Takata returned to Hawaii and began to open reiki clinics.

Shamballa (shambhala) is sanskrit for "sacred place of peace." It a heart centered reiki energy. It is pure unconditional love. This extension of the reiki energy was transmitted to Hari Das Melchizedek (John Armitage) by St. Germain in 1998. It is believed that this energy was first founded by St. Germain during the age of Atlantis.

Shamballa Multidimensional Healing was able to be re-introduced to our world because the collective vibration is rising. Shamballa reiki resonates at a higher frequency than Usui Reiki and it is said that a Level 1 Shamballa attunement is equivalent to a master Usui attunement.
